Chinese Man Refuses To Be Checked In A Market In Abuja, Then This Happens (photo

Police rescue a boastful Chinese diplomat from a mob in Wuse market in Abuja

There was a mild drama at Wuse market at about 9 o'clock on Wednesday morning when a boastful foreigner decided to flout normal security procedure. According to Source, the oyinbo man who claimed he's the "head of the Chinese business unit in the embassy" alongside another Chinese, refused to be checked at the entrance of the market. He did not allow the boot of his Honda sedan car, which had diplomatic license plates, to be opened for normal security check. The diplomat was said to have started boasting (instead of allowing to be checked), saying he knows Nigeria's security chiefs. And they can lock up anyone who forcefully check them.

This angered the crowd and also made them to insist the diplomat's car is checked. The people were set to drag out the passengers of the car in order to have the car checked forcefully. It however took the timely intervention of the Abuja Market Authority Management and Security officials to secure the diplomats from being lynched. In the process, one of them had his shirt torn to pieces.

He also claimed the sum of N100,000 was stolen from his car. The diplomat, who obviously knows an influential person, made some calls, apparently to top security chiefs, and immediately, security men arrived at the scene. The management of the market was compelled to make available to the diplomat the sum of N100,00 and a new shirt before he stepped out of the car to write a statement, which he did at the police post inside the market.
